Electrical and Electronics Industry Training Board Notice 1981

PURSUANT to section 15A of the Vocational Training Council Act 1968, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Electrical and Electronics Industry Training Board Notice 1981.

(2) This notice shall come into force on 3 December 1981.

  1. (1) There shall be an Industrial Training Board for the Electrical and Electronics Industry which shall be known as the Electrical and Electronics Industry Training Board and shall comprise the following members:

(a) One member appointed jointly by the Electronic and Appliance Servicing Federation of New Zealand (Inc.) and the Electronic Television Services Association (Inc.).

(b) One member appointed by the New Zealand Electrical Contractors’ Federation.

(c) One member appointed by the New Zealand Electrical Manufacturers’ Federation.

(d) One member appointed by the New Zealand Electronics Manufacturers’ Federation.

(e) One member appointed by the New Zealand Employers’ Federation (Inc.).

(f) Two members appointed by the North Island Electrical, Electronics and Related Trades Industry Union of Workers.

(g) Two members appointed by the New Zealand Engineering, Coachbuilding, Aircraft, Motor, and Related Trades Industrial Union of Workers.

(h) One member appointed jointly by the Nelson, Marlborough Electrical Industrial Union of Workers and the Otago and Southland Electrical Workers Industry Union of Workers.

(i) One member appointed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Vocational Training Council.

(j) One member appointed by the Director-General of Education.

(k) One member appointed by the Secretary of Labour.

(l) In addition to the members specified in subclause (i) of this clause, the board may co-opt not more than two additional members.

  1. (1) Subject to this clause the appointed members shall hold office for a period of 3 years, but may from time to time be reappointed.

(2) Any co-opted member shall hold office during the pleasure of the board for a period not exceeding 1 year, but may, if eligible, be reappointed.

(3) If any member dies or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the board or the chairman or the secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from the meetings of the board for three consecutive meetings, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed, and the member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.

(4) Unless he sooner vacates his office every appointed member of the board shall continue in office until his successor comes into office.

(5) The powers of the board shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.

  1. (1) A deputy member may be appointed, in the same manner as an appointed member to be the deputy of that member and act in the event of the absence of that member from any meeting of the Board.

(2) While any person is acting pursuant to subclause (1) of this clause he shall be deemed to be a full member of the board. The fact that any person so acts shall be sufficient evidence of his authority to do so.

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 23) 1981

PURSUANT to regulation 17 of the Import Control Regulations 1973*, the Minister of Trade and Industry hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 23) 1981.

(b) This notice shall come into force on the 4th day of December 1981.

  1. Goods of the classes specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff items in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

  2. The exemption from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations in respect of the goods of the classes set forth in the Second Schedule, is hereby withdrawn.
