Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions of this order, the price for any parcel of butter sold, whether in bulk or in pats, in a quantity of less than 25 kg, by way of sale by wholesale, being butter of one of the kinds and standards of quality set out in clause 6 of this order, may (at the option of the vendor) be the sum of 5c per parcel more than the appropriate price prescribed for butter of that kind and standard of quality by the foregoing provisions of this order, and the said sum of 5c shall be added to the rates referred to in clause 11 of this order for the purpose of that clause.

In the case of sales by a manufacturer to a wholesale distributor, the prices of which butter shall be so sold shall be:
(a) For butter sold in bulk 8.202c a kilogram less than the price hereinbefore specified.
(b) For butter sold in a 500 gram pack; 4.101c a pack less than the price hereinbefore specified.
(c) For butter sold in a 250 gram pack; 2.27c a pack less than the price hereinbefore specified.
- Any butter sold in pursuance of the provisions of clauses 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 of this order shall be delivered freight free into the purchaser's premises.
MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICE OF BUTTER TO WHICH THIS PRICE ORDER APPLIES
- (1) The maximum retail price of butter to which this price order applies shall be computed at the rate of:
(i) 110c a 500 gram pack of salted creamery butter.
(ii) 57c a 250 gram pack of salted creamery butter.
(iii) 113c a 500 gram pack of unsalted creamery butter.
(iv) 107c a 500 gram pack of salted whey butter.
(v) 110c a 500 gram pack of unsalted whey butter.
(2) If, in respect of any lot of butter sold by a retailer, the maximum price calculated in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this clause is not an exact number of cents, the maximum price of the lot shall be computed to the nearest whole cent.
SPECIAL PRICES WHERE EXTRAORDINARY CHARGES INCURRED
- Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions of this price order and subject to such conditions, if any as he thinks fit, the Secretary, on application by any trader, may authorise special maximum prices in respect of any butter to which this price order applies where special circumstances exist or for any reason extraordinary charges are incurred by the trader. Any authority given by the Secretary under this clause may apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of butter or may relate generally to all butter to which this Price Order applies sold by the trader while the order remains in force.

Price Order No. 233—(Milk Treatment Allowances)
I, Desmond James Gasson, being duly authorised by the Secretary of Trade and Industry in this behalf, do hereby make the following price order in accordance with the provisions of section 89 of the Commerce Act 1975, and section 25 (3) of the Milk Act 1967 (as amended by section 6 of the Milk Amendment Act 1980).
- (1) This order may be cited as Price Order No. 233.
(2) Price Order No. 213* is hereby revoked.
- In this order, unless the context otherwise requires:
"The Act" means the Milk Act 1967:
"Milk" has the same meaning as in the Act but does not include cream or goats' milk:
"Milk district" means a milk district constituted and declared as a milk district under the Act:
"Standard rates" means the standard rates of margins and allowances payable in respect of the treatment of town milk specified in the Schedule hereto:
"Treatment" has the same meaning as in the Act, but does not include refrigeration in a storage depot elsewhere than at the treatment station, or the service of homogenisation by a treatment station:
"Treatment station" means any plan or premises for the treatment of milk operated pursuant to the Act.

This price order applies to all milk sold for human consumption in any milk district after the coming into force of this price order.

The standard rates specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby fixed with effect from and including the 1st day of December 1981.
SCHEDULE
STANDARD RATES OF MARGINS AND ALLOWANCES PAYABLE FOR SERVICES PERFORMED IN RESPECT OF TOWN MILK
Nature of Service Margin or Allowance at the Rate of Cents per Litre
- Treatment by treatment station if the aggregate quantity treated is:
(1) 11 500 litres or over per day 8.30
(2) 4 500 litres or over but less than 11 500 litres per day 8.36
(3) Less than 4 500 litres per day 9.37
- Treatment by treatment station if such milk is not stored by refrigeration in the treatment station pending delivery but is stored elsewhere, and if the aggregate quantity treated is:
(1) 11 500 litres or over per day 8.19
(2) 4 500 litres or over but less than 11 500 litres per day 8.25
(3) Less than 4 500 litres per day 9.46
- Homogenisation by treatment station, if the aggregate quantity homogenised is:
(1) 4 500 litres or over per day 0.88
(2) 2 250 litres or over but less than 4 500 litres per day 1.18
(3) Less than 2 250 litres per day 1.51
- Diverting to town milk industry by treatment station of skim milk if the aggregate quantity diverted is:
(1) 4 500 litres or over per day 0.52
(2) 2 250 litres or over but less than 4 500 litres per day 0.60
(3) Less than 2 250 litres per day 0.68

Storing by refrigeration in vendor's depot 0.82

Storing by refrigeration in community depot 1.24
