His Excellency the Governor-General has announced that The Queen has been graciously pleased to make the following appointment to the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George:

To be an Ordinary Member of the First Class, or Knight Grand Cross, of the said Most Distinguished Order:
The Honourable David Stuart BEATTIE, q.c., Governor-General of New Zealand designate.
