Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Maori Reservation for the purpose of an urupa, for the common use and benefit of the Rangiwahitu Tribe.

All that piece of land situated in Block IX and Block X, Onewhero Survey District, and described as follows:

Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the general land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Maori Reservation for the purpose of a burial ground, for the common use and benefit of the descendants of Henare Pohio of whatever faith.

All that piece of land situated in Block XII, Puketapu Survey District, and described as follows:

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Hurunui Licensing Committee

Pursuant to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Hurunui Licensing Committee, on 18 June 1980, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the Anglers Arms Tavern.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public, the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (not being Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve)—Opening at 11 o'clock in the morning and closing at 10 o'clock in the evening.

(b) On any Friday, Saturday, and Christmas Eve—Opening at 11 o'clock in the morning and closing at 11 o'clock in the evening.

(c) On any New Year's Eve—Opening at 11 o'clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day.

Meat Industry Authority (Notice No. 21, M.I.A. 3/3) Advising the Closing of the Hokitika Abattoir

  1. Notice is hereby given that the West Coast Regional Abattoir Authority has notified the Meat Industry Authority that the West Coast Regional Abattoir Co. Ltd. has decided to discontinue its operations at the Hokitika abattoir under Abattoir Licence No. AB. 30.

  2. The Meat Industry Authority, pursuant to section 17 (1) (b) of the Meat Act 1964 has resolved to cancel the licence No. AB. 30 effective from 10 July 1980.

  3. Notice No. 1894* advising the establishment of the abattoir and notice No. 1284† advising the controlling authority of the abattoir are revoked.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft Amendment to New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

Number and Description of Draft
DZ 3122/A1 Draft amendment to NZS 3122:1974, Portland cement (ordinary, rapid hardening and modified).

This draft amendment deletes the existing requirement for sulphur trioxide (SO₃) maximum percentage in table 1, and introduces a revised requirement to cover the increasing use of high sulphur coals.

All persons who may be affected by this amendment and who desire to comment thereon may obtain copies from the Standards Association of New Zealand, World Trade Center, 15–23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 7 August 1980.
