Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Chartered Club—Waikato Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Waikato Licensing Committee, on 26 May 1980, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the chartered club known as the Te Aroha Club Incorporated.

To the intent that on days other than those on which chartered clubs are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to its members, the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises, subject to the provision of food facilities, on all evenings from 7 o'clock shall be as follows:

(a) On any Friday, Saturday and Christmas Eve—The hour of closing shall be 11 o'clock in the evening. The club shall not be open for the sale of liquor for more than 12 hours on each day.

(b) On any New Year's Eve—The hour of closing shall be 00.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day, the club shall not be open for the sale of liquor for more than 13½ hours on that day.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Bay of Plenty Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Bay of Plenty Licensing Committee, on 13 June 1980, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the D. B. Tauranga Hotel.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public, the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (not being Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve)—Opening at 11 o'clock in the morning and closing at 10 o'clock in the evening.

(b) On any Friday, Saturday—Opening at 11 o'clock in the morning and closing at 11 o'clock in the evening.

(c) On any Christmas Eve—Opening at 11 o'clock in the morning and closing at 12 o'clock in the evening.

(d) On any New Year's Eve—Opening at 11 o'clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day.

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Waikato Licensing Committee, on 5 October 1979, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the chartered club known as the Huntly R.S.A. Club Incorporated.

To the intent that on days other than those on which chartered clubs are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to its members, the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises, subject to food such as toasted sandwiches and hamburgers being available, shall be as follows:

(a) On any Friday, Saturday and Christmas Eve—The hour of closing shall be 11 o'clock in the evening, the club shall not be open for the sale of liquor for more than 12 hours on each day.

(b) On any New Year's Eve—The hour of closing shall be 00.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day, the club shall not be open for the sale of liquor for more than 13½ hours on that day.

Commission of Inquiry into the Freight Forwarding Industry

UNDER an Order in Council of 5 June 1980, a public inquiry into the freight forwarding industry is to take place with Mr. B. Bornholdt, Wellington, as Chairman, and Mr. N. H. Chapman, Wellington, and Mr L. G. Clark, Coromandel as members.

The Commission is to inquire into and report by 30 November 1980 on:

(a) The effect the operations of the freight forwarders have had on the profitability of the New Zealand Railways.

(b) The revenue freight forwarders derive from their arrangement with the Railways.

(c) Whether the existing contractual arrangements between Railways and freight forwarders are financially beneficial to the Railways or have adversely affected it as a public service.

(d) Whether the freight forwarding industry is beneficial both to the Railways and the nation.

All those interested in making submissions are asked to inform the Secretary by 21 July. The programme of public hearings will be notified later both in the press and individually to participants.

Submissions, which should be in writing, are to be sent to the Secretary by 18 August 1980.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that the following 3 schools have entered into the state system of education in accordance with the provisions of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975. The integration agreement will take effect on 30 June 1980.

A copy of each agreement is available for inspection at the Department of Education, Head Office, Government Building, Wellington.

Saint Teresa's Primary School, Bluff.
Saint Thomas' Primary School, Winton.

PURSUANT to the Water Recreation Regulations 1979*, I, Robin Paul Taylor, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport, hereby give the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Mohaka River) Notice 1980.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the Gazette.

  2. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule Schedule hereto, regulations 7 (1) (a) and (b), and 7 (2) of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979 shall not apply to the area specified in the First Schedule hereto.
