Proposal for Change of Variety Denomination (Notice No. 2397, Ag. 3/2, 3/6)
Pursuant to section 11 of the Plant Varieties Act 1973, notice is hereby given of a proposed change in denomination.
SCHEDULE
Species: Pea (Pisum sativum)
| Name and address of applicant | Address for Service | Date application received | Breeders Reference | Previous Proposed Denomination | New Proposed Denomination |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unilever Ltd., Unilever House, EC4P, 4BQ, England | Wrightsons NMA Ltd., P.O. Box 939, Christchurch | 30/8/79 | 525 Ag. 60/4/4 | Auk | Cygnet |
Note—The denomination Heron has been approved for this variety in the United Kingdom, but was not acceptable in New Zealand because the denomination was already used as a synonym for a pea variety of common knowledge. The applicant previously proposed the denomination Auk for the variety (notice No. 2336, in Gazette, March 1980), but now proposes the denomination Cygnet.
Dated at Lincoln this 16th day of June 1980.
