At the Government House at Wellington this 9th day of June 1980

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL BY HIS DEPUTY IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the purpose for which it was acquired.

All those pieces of land situated in the City of Wellington described as follows:

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirement of Officers of the New Zealand Army


PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General by his Deputy has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

ROYAL REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY

Captain (temp. Major) and Quartermaster E. C. Lile is re-engaged to 19 November 1982.

THE CORPS OF ROYAL N.Z. ENGINEERS

Lieutenant Colonel (temp. Colonel) R. McL. Dickie, O.B.E., B.E.(CIV), C.ENG., M.I.C.E., F.N.Z.I.E., is re-engaged to 17 December 1980.

ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS

Warrant Officer Class I Herbert George Cantrick is appointed to a commission in the rank of Lieutenant and Quartermaster, with seniority and effect from 12 May 1980.

ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY REGIMENT

Captain (temp. Major) P. O. Maguire to be Major, with seniority from 11 December 1978 and effect from 24 April 1980.

The following Captains to be temp. Major, with effect from the dates shown:

B. W. F. Morrison 1 May 1980.

L. P. Corner, 12 May 1980.

Captain Michael Manning Huggett is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, in the rank of Captain, with effect from 18 May 1980.

Lieutenant P. J. Hibbs to be acting Captain, with effect from 15 May 1980, and temp. Captain, with effect from 26 May 1980.

Lieutenant I. P. K. Stuart to be acting Captain, with effect from 8 May 1980, and temp. Captain, with effect from 19 May 1980.

The seniority of Lieutenant D. W. Quirke is post-dated to 22 December 1976.

Lieutenant R. S. Hurle is transferred to the Supernumerary List on reaching retiring age for rank, with effect from 18 April 1980, and his engagement is extended to 27 September 1982.

Warrant Officer Class I Corneliu Patrick Lennon is appointed to a commission in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from 5 May 1980.

Major Bruce Titikiti-O-Rangi Poananga is posted to the Retired List, with effect from 6 May 1980.

2nd Battalion (Canterbury and Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast), RNZIR

The commissions of the following 2nd Lieutenants (on prob.) are confirmed, with effect from 21 February 1979:
