His Excellency the Governor-General has announced that The Queen has been graciously pleased, on the occasion of the celebration of the New Year 1980, to confer the following honours.

Dr John Malfroy STAVELEY, O.B.E., M.C., of Taupo. For services to medicine, especially to New Zealand Blood Transfusion Services.

To be Knights Bachelor:

James Muir Cameron FLETCHER, of Auckland. For services to industry and the community.

Valdemar Reid SKELLERUP, C.B.E., of Christchurch. For services to industry and the community.

To be Companions of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (C.M.G.):

Raymond Douglas JAMIESON, of Wellington. Lately, Chief Judge of the Arbitration Court.

To be Commanders of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.):

Philip William BLAKELEY, of Wellington. Lately, Deputy Secretary of Energy, Electricity Division, Ministry of Energy (General Manager, New Zealand Electricity Department 1972–78)
