NORTHLAND CATCHMENT COMMISSION

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR RIVER CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that the Northland Catchment Commission
intends, under the provisions of the Soil Conservation
and Rivers Control Act 1941, to execute a certain work,
namely river control, and for the purpose of such work the
land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken
pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928; and notice is further
given that plans showing the said land are deposited at the
office of the Northland Catchment Commission situated at
Commercial Union Building, Rathbone Street, Whangarei,
and may there be inspected without fee by all persons during
ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the said work or by the taking of
the said land and who have an objection thereto, not being
an objection as to the amount or payment of compensation,
must state their objection in writing and send it within 40
days after the first publication of this notice, to the Planning
Tribunal at Wellington. If any objection is received a public
hearing of the same will be held unless the objector otherwise
requires, and each objector will be advised of the time
and place of such hearing.

The land thirdly described above is part of an island formed
by old channels of the Wairua river and upstream approximately
1 kilometre from the Lewis bridge on Matarau road
at the lower end of the Hikurangi swamp.

Notice is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies
has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909,
by writing under his hand this 4th day of November 1980,
cancelled the registry of Harmony Rebekah Lodge No. 55,
Register No. 146/213, a branch of the Independent Order of
Odd Fellows of New Zealand Friendly Society, on the ground
that the said branch has ceased to exist.

1978, notice is hereby given that the Adjusted Weighted
Average Sale Price for the sale held on 31 October 1980 at
Christchurch was 250.26 cents per kilogram (greasy basis).

As this price is above the Government's supplementary
minimum wool price of 235 cents per kilogram (greasy basis)
no supplement is payable on wool until further notice.

There is likewise no grower retention levy payable in terms
of section 42 of the Wool Industry Act 1977, as the A.W.A.S.P.
is less than the ruling trigger price of 330 cents per kilogram
(greasy basis).
