(No. 9) 1980

Pursuant to the Marriage Act 1955, I, James Kenneth McLay, Minister of Justice, hereby give notice as follows.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Marriage (approval of organisation) Notice (No. 9) 1980.

  2. The organisation specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be an approved organisation for the purpose of the Marriage Act 1955.

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Geoffrey Lewis Thomson at Glenorchy by the use of Water and Revoking a Previous Licence

Pursuant to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Energy hereby consents to the generation of electricity by Geoffrey Lewis Thomson of Glenorchy by the use of water, subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934, to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity, shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

  2. This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968 to generate electricity by the use of water.

  3. The generation of electricity by the use of water pursuant to this consent shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

  4. This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 2001.

  5. This consent confers no rights to water under the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

  6. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 20.6 KVA.

REVOCATION

This licence is issued in place of a licence issued to Thomas James Thomson, farmer, by an Order in Council dated 1st day of February 1961, and appearing in the Gazette on the 2nd day of February 1961, at page 180, which is consequently revoked.

SCHEDULE

General Description of Works

(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with a water race and pipeline leading to the power house giving a static head of approximately 18.29 metres.

(b) Turbine and power house with all necessary equipment for generating electricity situated in section 8, Block I, Earnslaw Survey District.

(c) Tail race leading from the power house to a tributary of Reid's Lake.

As shown on the plan marked N.Z.E. 550, deposited in the office of the Electricity Division, Ministry of Energy at Wellington.

The Traffic (Vincent County) Notice No. 1, 1980

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Vincent County) Notice No. 1, 1980.

The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The notice under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, dated the 3rd day of March 1967*, and the Traffic (Vincent County) Notice No. 1, 1973, dated the 7th day of September 1973†, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, are hereby revoked.

The Traffic (Taupo Borough) Notice No. 1, 1980

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Taupo Borough) Notice No. 1, 1980.

The roads specified in the first Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

The Traffic (Taupo Borough) Notice No. 1, 1979, dated the 3rd day of August 1979†, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situated within Taupo Borough:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from the northern boundary of Taupo Borough to a point 100 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said State Highway from Norman Smith Street; and from a point 320 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said State Highway from Shepherd Road to the southern boundary of Taupo Borough.

No. 5 State Highway (Tirau-Napier via Rotorua and Taupo): from the south-eastern boundary of Taupo Borough to a point 60 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said State Highway from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff).

Acacia Bay Road: from Norman Smith Street to the western boundary of Taupo Borough.
