His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to constitute and appoint:

The Right Honourable Sir Ronald Keith Davison, G.B.E., C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand

to be Deputy of the Governor-General commencing at Auckland, on the 27th day of August 1980, and during the period of the temporary absence of the Governor-General from the seat of Government and from New Zealand while visiting Tonga.
