ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE
Lieutenant Commander P. W. Bowen, B.E.(MECH), C.ENG., M.I.MECH.E., M.N.Z.I.E., is transferred to the Inactive List of the RNZNVR, with effect from 30 November 1979.

Surgeon Commander John Frederick Rivers, M.B., M.R.C.P., R.N. retired, is appointed to the Inactive List of the RNZNVR in the rank of Surgeon Commander, with seniority from 1 November 1977 and effect from 1 November 1979; terminating on 10 April 1985.

RETIRED LIST OF THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
Lieutenant Commander Errol Robert Eldon Sawyers is transferred to the Active List of the RNZNVR, with his seniority as Lieutenant Commander adjusted to 25 July 1977 and with effect from 16 November 1979; terminating on 18 December 1982.

EMERGENCY LIST OF THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
The period of service of Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) I. M. Halliday, B.SC., on the Emergency List of the RNZN is extended to 25 October 1984.

Appointment of Temporary Judge of Supreme Court

PURSUANT to section 11 of the Judicature Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, has been pleased to appoint

Evan Murray Prichard, Esquire, Barrister, of Auckland, to be a Judge of the Supreme Court for a period of 12 months.

Stipendiary Magistrates Appointed

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1947 and section 7 (2) of the Domestic Proceedings Act 1968 and section 21 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1974, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Richard Ronald Kearney, of Gisborne;
Peter William Graham, of Wellington;
Michael John Albert Brown, of Auckland; and
Colin Campbell Fraser, of Invercargill;

barristers and solicitors, to be Stipendiary Magistrates to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, jurisdiction in the Children and Young Persons Court and the domestic jurisdiction of the Magistrates’ Courts.

Appointing a Deputy to a Member of the Water Resources Council

Board Appointed to Control and Manage a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands hereby appoints

The Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Westland Land District, ex officio, who shall be Chairman;
His Worship the Mayor of Hokitika, ex officio,
Maida Elizabeth Claire Bryant;
George William Ross King;
Stuart John Mitchell;
Douglas Muir, as representative of the Westland County Council, who shall be a member during his term as a County Councillor (but not in any event exceeding 3 years);
Jon William Olson;
William Patrick O’Reilly; and
James Harold Percival

to be the Hokitika Lakes Reserves Board to control and manage the reserves, described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as reserves for the purposes specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the said lands, for a term to expire on 31 December 1980.
