Tariff Notice No. 1979/133—Applications for Variation of Approvals

NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made for variation of current approvals of the Minister of Customs as follows:

Sprinklers of the following types:
(1) Sectoring (excluding up to 73 litres (16 gal.) per minute)
(2) Frost protection
(3) Low angle-free (less than 26 degrees and with outputs exceeding 52 litres (11.5 gal.) per minute)
(4) rubber nozzled
(5) oscillating:
manually adjustable to enable full or part distribution of water over a rectangular area
(6) Perrot ZN 30
(7) when declared by a manufacturer for use in the manufacture of agricultural sprinkler systems, as may be approved

(2) Naan 213/98 Glass house sprinkler, suspended from the roof with hammer downwards, with working outputs of 0.49 to 0.71 g.p.m.
(3) Part Circle undertree 7° or less with working output of 1.21 g.p.m. to 2.64 g.p.m.
(4) Full Circle undertree 7° or less with working output of 1.21 g.p.m. to 3.44 g.p.m.
(5) Sectoring 24° or less with working outputs of 1.24 g.p.m. to 5.28 g.p.m.
(6) Frost Protection with working outputs of 0.24 g.p.m. to 27.30 g.p.m.
(7) Full Circle 24° or less with working outputs of 1.24 g.p.m. to 78.4 g.p.m.
(8) Full and Part Circle Sprinklers for use with own manufactured travelling irrigators, with working outputs of 21.5 g.p.m. to 596 g.p.m.
(9) Mobile sprinklers (Nelson) with working outputs of ¼ in. to 1 in. application per hour

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing to the appropriate office as indicated by the identification reference on or before 13 September 1979. Submissions should include a reference to the identification reference, application number, Tariff item, and description of goods concerned and be supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported material used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.
