Taranaki, Manawatu, and Bay of Plenty. By the 23rd the cold front associated with the depression in the Tasman Sea had moved on to Northland and 24 hour falls of more than 50 mm were reported in some parts of the district. As the front moved southwards most of the North Island and parts of Nelson and Marlborough had moderate rain.

On the 26th the depression and cold front had moved away from the country, and an anticyclone became centered over New Zealand. Pressures were low to the north and south of the country. Most districts had fine weather until the 29th. Some isolated showers were reported in northern and eastern districts of the North Island. By the morning of the 30th a complex depression in the Tasman Sea had moved eastwards towards New Zealand, and a cold front associated with this depression moved northwards across the country. This complex system moved slowly across the North Island bringing heavy rain to parts of Buller, Nelson, Marlborough, Wellington, and Wairarapa. Exceptionally heavy rain began to fall during the evening of the 30th in Auckland and Northland as the depression became almost stationary. Temperatures were higher than normal throughout the North Island at the end of the month.
