Commerce Act 1975
Notice of the intention of the Examiner of Commercial Practices to report to the Commerce Commission on a merger or takeover proposal.
Whereas, pursuant to section 68 of the Commerce Act 1975, I have received notification of a merger or takeover proposal whereby L. D. Nathan and Co. Ltd. would acquire all the issued ordinary stock units of McKenzies (N.Z.) Ltd.; and whereas I formed the provisional view that the proposal is likely to be contrary to the public interest; and whereas in accordance with the provisions of section 69 I have notified the participants of my intention to report on the matter to the Commerce Commission; now therefore, remaining of the provisional view that the proposal is contrary to the public interest, I give notice of my intention to report to the Commerce Commission on the proposal after full investigation in terms of section 74 of the Commerce Act 1975.

Insurance Companies' Deposits Act 1953—Proposed Release of Deposit
NATIONAL Employers Mutual General Insurance Association Ltd., has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on in New Zealand the classes of insurance business designated as Classes 1 and 4 in the First Schedule to the above-mentioned Act and that it proposes to withdraw pursuant to section 19 of such Act the deposits which have been made by it with the Public Trustee.
The Public Trustee therefore gives notice pursuant to section 19 (3) of the above-mentioned Act that being satisfied that all liabilities of the said company in New Zealand in respect of such insurance business have been fully provided for he proposes to release to the company on or after 4 September 1979 the amounts deposited with him by the said company.
Any objections to the release of the amounts deposited should be lodged with the Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before 30 August 1979.
