Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 149 of the Rating Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby exempts the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto from the liability for the payment of rates.

ALL that piece of land situated in Blocks IX and X, East Cape Survey District, and described as follows:

Appointing a Member of the National Roads Board

of Tangiteroria, farmer, nominated by the New Zealand Counties Association Incorporated, to be a member of the National Roads Board in place of George MacLean.

Adding Land to Abel Tasman National Park

PURSUANT to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, as from the date hereof, be added to and form part of the Abel Tasman National Park and shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with by the Abel Tasman National Park Board in accordance with the provisions of the said Act.

Conciliator of Industrial Conciliation Service Appointed

PURSUANT to section 63 of the Industrial Relations Act 1973, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Labour, has been pleased to appoint

Frederick Miroslav Gerbic,

of Auckland, to be a conciliator of the Industrial Conciliation Service for a term of 3 years commencing on the 2nd day of July 1979.

Stipendiary Magistrate Appointed

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1947 and section 7 (2) of the Domestic Proceedings Act 1968 and section 21 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1974, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Peter John Bate, Esquire,

of Hastings, barrister and solicitor, to be a Stipendiary Magistrate to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, the jurisdiction of the Children and Young Persons Courts, and the domestic jurisdiction of the Magistrates' Courts.

Commissioner of Supreme Court Appointed

PURSUANT to section 47 of the Judicature Act 1908, the Right Honourable Sir Ronald Keith Davison, c.m.g., c.b.e., Chief Justice of New Zealand, has this day appointed

Bernard Treston, Esquire, 33-39 Spence Street, Cairns, Queensland, Australia,

a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, to be a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in Queensland for the purpose of administering and taking of oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Revocation of a Warrant Appointing a Commissioner of the Maori Land Court

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to revoke the warrant appointing

Edward Willis Williams, Esquire,

to be a Commissioner of the Maori Land Court upon his having taken up another appointment.

Declaring Land Taken for the Generation of Electricity in the Borough of Cromwell

PURSUANT to section 32 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works and Development hereby declares that, a sufficient agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the generation of electricity, from and after the 7th day of June 1979.

Otago Land District

ALL that piece of land containing 5.47 perches, situated in the Borough of Cromwell, being Lot 1, Deeds Plan 179, and being Section 1, Block 1XA, Town of Cromwell. All certificate of title, Volume 278, folio 216.
