Pursuant to section 82 of the Accident Compensation Act 1972, payments were made during the year to the Accident Compensation Commission amounting to $7,696,974 for advances of self-employed levy. Levies of an as yet undetermined amount have been received and applied against those advances.

†Includes amounts previously recorded in the Works and Trading Account.

GENERAL NOTE: This summary, prepared in accordance with section 67 of the Public Finance Act 1977, reflects the changes in the public accounts effected by that Act from 1 April 1978. The principal change is the abolition of the Works and Trading Account. Of the activities formerly recorded in that account, Electric Supply, Railways, and State Coal Mines are now funded from accounts outside the Public Account. The other two activities, Land Settlement and Public Works, now form part of the Consolidated Account.
