A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, The Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a service lane and shall vest in the Otahuhu Borough Council, as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 11th day of April 1979.

Approving the Term of a Licence Granted to BP (NZ) Ltd. for a Tramway Across parts of Kenny Avenue and Bull Street in the City of Napier

THE RIGHT HON. R. D. MULDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Tramways Act 1908 and the Tramways Amendment Act 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby approves the term of the licence granted for a period of 21 years, from the 2nd day of December 1970, by the Napier City Council to BP (NZ) Ltd., a duly incorporated company having its registered office at Wellington, authorising the said company to construct and maintain a private tramway across parts of Kenny Avenue and Bull Street, in the City of Napier, the position of such tramway being more particularly delineated on the plan marked 3/176/4/1925/1, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works and Development at Wellington.

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the land described in the First and Second Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a motorway.

FIRST SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that portion of public highway in the City of Auckland being part of the Auckland-Hamilton Motorway (Cook Street and Newton Interchanges) commencing at the southern end of the Victoria Park Viaduct, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction, generally, for a distance of approximately 1.7 kilometres, and including also the connections to Cook Street, Nelson Street, and Hobson Street; crossing under the following streets: Wellington Street including the connections thereto, Hopetoun Street extension, Karangahape Road, Upper Queen Street and Symonds Street and terminating at the eastern side of Symonds Street; coloured red on plan.

SECOND SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that portion of public highway, situated in the City of Auckland, being part of the Grafton Gully-Beach Road Motorway commencing at the eastern side of Symonds Street and proceeding in a north-westerly direction, generally, for a distance of approximately 165 metres, passing under Symonds Street and terminating at the junction with Wellesley Street East and Princess Street; coloured blue on plan.

As shown on plan 1/1110/19/3104/1 issue B, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works and Development at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above-mentioned.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Army

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

ROYAL REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY
Lieutenant and Quartermaster J. B. Rout to be temp. Captain and Quartermaster, with effect from 12 March 1979.
Lieutenant G. R. Williams to be temp. Captain, with effect from 12 February 1979.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS
Major and Quartermaster C. M. Wild is transferred to the Supernumerary List on reaching retiring age for rank, with effect from 22 February 1977, and his engagement is extended to 21 February 1982.

THE CORPS OF ROYAL N.Z. ENGINEERS
Robert William Goldie is appointed to a commission on a fixed term engagement of 3 years in the rank of Captain (on prob.), with seniority and effect from 20 November 1978.
