A PROCLAMATION

I, The Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare that, pursuant to the Electoral Act 1956, I have this day signed my Warrant directing the Clerk of the Writs to proceed forthwith to issue writs for the election of members of Parliament for all electoral districts within New Zealand.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 26th day of October 1978.

Notifying Issue of Writs, Date of Polling, etc.

PURSUANT to a Warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, dated the 26th day of October 1978 directed to the Clerk of Writs, I have this day issued writs to all Returning Officers authorising them to proceed to the election of members of Parliament for all electoral districts within New Zealand and have fixed Thursday, the 2nd day of November 1978, as the last day for the nomination of candidates, Saturday, the 25th day of November 1978, as the day upon which the poll for such elections shall (if necessary) be taken, and Friday, the 15th day of December 1978 as the day on or before which the said writs shall be returnable to me.
