THE FOREST DISEASE CONTROL REGULATIONS 1967
AMENDMENT TO DECLARATION OF "INFECTED AREA" IN RESPECT
OF PINE NEEDLE BLIGHT (Dothistroma pini)
PURSUANT to the Forest Disease Control Regulations 1967, I, Malcolm James Conway, Director-General of Forests, Wellington, hereby amend the Declaration of Infected Area in respect of forest disease pine needle blight (Dothistroma pini) that came into force on the 5th day of September 1967, as published in the Gazette of the 21st day of September 1967, and amended by six amendments, the last of which came into force on the 13th day of April 1976, as published in the Gazette of the 29th day of July 1976, as follows:

Subparagraph 1 (c) (as so amended) is hereby deleted and the following subparagraph is substituted therefor:
"(c) That part of the Land District of Westland, situated in Grey County, and that portion of Westland County, north of the Haast River." -
Subparagraph 2 (c) (as so amended) is hereby deleted and the following subparagraph is substituted therefor:
"(c) From any place or site within the above-described infected area to any other place or site within the infected area."

NOTES

This amendment comes into effect upon first publication in a newspaper circulating in the infected area constituted. Its purpose is to extend the previously declared "infected area".

It is an offence to remove plants or Christmas tree material (branched etc.) out of the "infected area", if these and have not been treated as specified by an authorised forest officer.

The "infected area" is now generally the whole of the North Island, excluding the Kaitaia Borough and the Mangonui and Great Barrier Counties. In the South Island the "infected area" is all that land in Nelson and Marlborough Sounds to the west of the Wairau River and the Westland Land District north of the Haast River.

Inquiries should be addressed to the nearest Conservator of Forests.
The said amendment was published on 7, 8, and 9 June 1978 in the following newspapers:

Southland Times;
Wairarapa Times-Age;

Westport News;
Wanganui Chronicle;
New Zealand Herald;
Dannevirke Evening News; and
Northern Advocate;
In terms of regulation 4 (2) of the said regulations, the said amendment came into force upon the first publication of the declaration as aforesaid.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment
PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.
Number and Title of Specification
DZ 4512 Automatic fire alarms systems (A4 size, $2.50)
This draft will ultimately replace NZS GP 50. It will both provide a means of compliance with Chapter 5 of NZS 1960, and a basis for the certification to be required by the New Zealand Fire Service as from 1 January 1979.
All persons who may be affected by this publication and who desire to comment thereon, may obtain copies at the price shown, from the Standards Association of New Zealand, World Trade Center, 15-23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.
NOTE—Payment must accompany all requests for drafts.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 15 October 1978.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft Amendments New Zealand Standard Specifications Available for Comment
PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965 notice is hereby given that the following draft amendments are being circulated.
Number and Description of Draft
DZ 5902/A1 Draft amendment No. 1 to NZS 5902: Building drawing practice—Part 1: General and architectural; Part 2: Structural—Concrete and timber; Part 3: Services—Mechanical and sanitary.
An amendment has been drafted to each of Parts 1, 2, and 3, (but NOT Part 4) of NZS 5902. These amendments correct obvious typographical and draughting errors and omissions. All three draft amendments are bound together.
All persons who may be affected by these amendments and who desire to comment thereon, may obtain copies at the price shown, from the Standards Association of New Zealand, World Trade Center, 15-23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

Designation of Rotorua District Community Arts Council
PURSUANT to section 32 (i) of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand Act 1974, on the recommendation of the Rotorua District Community Arts Council, and on the application of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand hereby designates the Rotorua District Community Arts Council for the following duly defined area: Rotorua City Council and Rotorua County Council boundaries.

Designation of Wellsford Community Arts Council
PURSUANT to section 32 (i) of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand Act 1974, on the recommendation of the Northern Regional Arts Council, and on the application of the Wellsford Community Arts Council, the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand hereby designates the Wellsford Community Arts Council for the following duly defined area: to a line from Mangawhai Heads, west to Hakaru on the Kaiwaka, along the Okahukura Peninsula south to Tauhoa, the boundaries to reach to the highest point of the 'Dome', then north to Wayby and Waiteitei following the coast through Whangaripo and Pakiri.
