Boundaries of Otahuhu Borough Defined

PURSUANT to section 48 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Secretary for Local Government hereby defines as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of Otahuhu Borough, following the inclusion in the borough of an area of reclaimed land by notice signed by the Minister of Local Government, on 25 May, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 1 June 1978, No. 48, p. 1576.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District containing 560 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the middle line of the North Island Main Trunk Railway with the northern side of Portage Road in Block VI, Otahuhu Survey District, and proceeding easterly along the northern side of Portage Road to the left bank of Otahuhu Creek; thence southerly, generally, along the right bank of Otahuhu Creek to and southerly, generally along the left bank of Tamaki River to and along the generally eastern boundaries of Section 63, Block VI, Otahuhu Survey District, to and south westerly generally, along the said left bank to and along the generally eastern boundaries of Allotment 97, Small Farms Near Otahuhu, to and again along the said left bank to its intersection with the middle line of the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence northerly, generally, along the middle line of the aforesaid railway to the point of commencement.

Registered Medical Practitioner Prohibited from Issuing Prescriptions for Controlled Drugs

PURSUANT to section 23 (1) (a) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, the Minister of Health, acting on the recommendation of the Medical Council of New Zealand, hereby prohibits Ronald James Kay Grieve, of Auckland, medical practitioner, from issuing prescriptions for the supply of controlled drugs.

Exemption from the Restrictions as to Flashing Red Lights

PURSUANT to subclause (8) of regulation 67 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves the fitting and use of one or more revolving or flashing red lights on vehicles, described in the Schedule hereto, and operating in execution of the lawful duties of the Service Police.

SCHEDULE

VEHICLES employed on Service Police duties by:

The Royal New Zealand Navy, and displaying a sign worded “NAVAL PATROL”.

The New Zealand Army, and displaying a sign worded “MILITARY PATROL”.

The Royal New Zealand Air Force and displaying a sign worded “RNZAF Police”.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation, for the purpose of burial ground, for the common use and benefit of members of the Ngati Kauwhata tribe.

Redefining the Persons or Class of Persons for whom a Maori Reservation was Made

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the persons for whose common use and benefit the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto, was set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a Marae or meeting place by a notice in the New Zealand Gazette, of 14 September 1972, No. 75, p. 1957, are hereby redefined as “persons of Maori ancestry, whether local residents, people of the district or otherwise.”
