Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

ROYAL REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY

Lieutenant P. S. Southwell: the notice published in the Gazette, 25 May 1978, No. 45, p. 1517 is cancelled.

2nd Lieutenant T. R. Kuper to be Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from 12 June 1978.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) G. R. Ready to be Captain, with seniority from 20 December 1976 and effect from 3 March 1978.

Lieutenant J. Coubrough to be temp. Captain, with effect from 10 July 1978.

Captain A. T. Beaver to be temp. Major, with effect from 13 January 1977.

Lieutenant D. W. Quirke is re-engaged until 12 January 1980.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) and Quartermaster E. Ball to be Captain and Quartermaster, with seniority and effect from 1 July 1978.

Lieutenant (W) (temp. Captain (W)) J. A. Stuart is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, in the rank of Captain (W), with effect from 5 June 1978.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS

Captain G. T. Palenski is re-engaged until retiring age for rank.

The commission of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) Ross William Urwin lapses, with effect from 18 May 1978.
