Industries Development Commission Notice No. 1978/7

General Textile Industry Reference, Amended Programme for Public Hearings

1. The Commission advised in the Schedule to its Notice No. 1978/4, published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 39, of 11 May 1978 the amended commencement dates, order, and content of public hearings to be held in connection with the General Textile Industry Reference.

2. The Commission’s notice No. 1978/6, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 61, of 6 July 1978, advised the deferment of the public hearing into sector No. 10, Carpets.

3. Commencement dates have now been set for the carpet hearing and for the public hearing into corsetry, swimwear, and babies’ and infants’ wear which were unable to be covered in the previous apparel sector hearings.

4. Embroideries which were to have formed part of the public hearing into sector No. 5, Woven fabrics and articles (excluding apparel) were deferred and now form part of the public hearing into sector No. 12, Whitework etc., which commences on 8 August 1978.

5. The public hearings into sector No. 8, Bonded, coated, etc., fabrics and sector No. 9, Non-woven fabrics and articles have been combined into one hearing which will commence on 15 August 1978.

6. The amended commencement dates, order, and content of the public hearings (sector hearings) are set out in the Schedule to this notice. The closing dates for submissions to these hearings are also set out in the Schedule.

7. The commencement times for all hearings remain at 10.30 a.m. for the first day and 10 a.m. for each subsequent day.
