Declaring Land in a Roadway Laid out in Block I, Hokianga Survey District, to be Road

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 421 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, I, The Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto and comprised in a roadway laid out by the Maori Land Court by an order dated the 16th day of September 1976, to be road, and to be vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Hokianga.

Cancelling Conditions as to Setting Back the Building Line of Portion of Alfred Street in the Borough of Blenheim

PURSUANT to section 131 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Memoranda of Acceptance registered in the Land Registry Office at Blenheim under Nos 21703 and 38016 exempting portions of the northern side of Alfred Street in the Borough of Blenheim from the provisions of section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928 subject to conditions as to the building line by cancelling the conditions as to the building line imposed by the said Memoranda of Acceptance.

The Mutual Insurance (Approval of Rules) Order 1978

PURSUANT to section 30A (3) of the Mutual Insurance Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.


ORDER

  1. Title—This order may be cited as the Mutual Insurance (Approval of Rules) Order 1978.

  2. Rules approved—The rules set out in the Schedule to this order, being rules adopted by the Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Association of Dunedin by ordinary resolution on the 20th day of October 1977, are hereby approved.


SCHEDULE

FARMERS’ MUTUAL INSURANCE ASSOCIATION OF DUNEDIN

SPECIAL RULES

(Adopted by ordinary resolution on 20 October 1977)

WARDS

  1. (1) As from a date to be fixed by the directors of the association (hereinafter called “the Appointed Day”) the directors of the association shall be elected on the basis that each director represents a particular Region or Ward within New Zealand and that directors shall be elected not by general meetings of the association but by Regional Meetings as is hereinafter mentioned.

(2) As from the Appointed Day, for the purpose of electing the Board of Directors of the association (hereinafter called “the Board”), New Zealand shall be divided into nine (9) separate Regions or Wards designated as follows and each Ward shall have the following number of directors representing it:

North Auckland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua

Gisborne-Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, Southern Hawke’s Bay

Wairarapa, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganui, Wellington

Taranaki

Golden Bay, Nelson, Marlborough

North Canterbury, Mid-Canterbury, West Coast

South Canterbury, North Otago

Otago

Southland

(3) Initially, the extent and boundaries of each Ward shall be as set out in a Map prepared for that purpose and approved prior to the Appointed Day by the persons who will become directors of the association as at the Appointed Day.


DIRECTORS

  1. (1) After the Appointed Day the association in General Meeting shall have no right to elect or appoint directors. After the Appointed Day, all persons who are to be elected as directors of the association shall be so elected at a Regional Meeting of a Ward as representatives of that Ward and any person elected at a Regional Meeting as a director shall automatically become a director of the association at the next following Annual General Meeting of the association on the retirement of his predecessor in office.

(2) As from the Appointed Day, no person may be appointed or elected as a director of the association in respect of a particular Ward unless—

(a) Such person is a member of the association; and

(b) Has property insured against fire with the association to the amount of $1,000 at least; and

(c) Such person has his principal residence in that Ward, or carries on a substantial farming operation within that Ward and has elected as is hereinafter mentioned to vote in that Ward TO THE INTENT that no person shall be eligible to be elected as a director in
