Appointments

John Joseph Horan, M.B., CH.B., is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers on a Special Medical Engagement until 24 July 1981, in the rank of Squadron Leader, with seniority from 25 July 1971, and to be temp. Wing Commander, with effect from 25 July 1977.

Bruce Robert Noel Golden, M.B., CH.B., D.AV. MED., is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers, in the rank of Squadron Leader, with seniority from 10 February 1971 and effect from 7 June 1977.

CHAPLAINS' BRANCH

Appointments

The Rev. Anton Rex McLean (Roman Catholic), is appointed to a commission in the rank of Chaplain 4th Class, with seniority and effect from 21 March 1977.

The Rev. William Gordon Murray Dixon (Anglican), is appointed to a commission in the rank of Chaplain 4th Class, with seniority from 30 November 1971 and effect from 4 April 1977.

Ian Murray Mynott Taylor, M.B., CH.B., is appointed to a commission in the rank of Flight Lieutenant, with seniority from 9 December 1968 and effect from 28 July 1975.

Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

Royal Regiment of N.Z. Artillery

Lieutenant Colonel (temp. Colonel) D. R. Kenning, M.B.E., to be Colonel and is transferred to the Colonel's List, with seniority from 4 September 1977 and effect from 14 February 1978.

Major James Bilton, from the Royal Regiment of Artillery (Rtd.); is appointed to a commission, on an engagement to retiring age for rank, in the rank of Major with seniority from 5 October 1971 and effect from 5 October 1977.

Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) G. R. Ready is re-engaged until 28 February 1985.

The Corps of Royal N.Z. Engineers

Captain (temp. Major) B. A. Stewart is re-engaged until retiring age for rank.

Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals

2nd Lieutenant (W) S. McKie is re-engaged until 1 May 1981.

Major and Quartermaster Walter Fraser, M.B.E., is transferred from the Retired List, on a fixed term engagement of 2 years, in the rank of Captain and Quartermaster with seniority from 5 March 1971, to be temp. Major and Quartermaster with effect from 27 February 1978.

Captain Archibald Robert Dixon is transferred to the Territorial Force with effect from 12 January 1978.

The Corps of Royal N.Z. Electrical and Mechanical Engineers

Captain (temp. Major) and Quartermaster Ronald Spencer Bennett is posted to the Retired List in the rank of Major and Quartermaster with effect from 14 March 1978.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) and Quartermaster W. L. Johnson is transferred to the Supernumerary List on reaching retiring age for rank with effect from 12 March 1978, and his engagement is extended until 11 March 1983.

Royal N.Z. Chaplains' Department

George Wiki Nathan-Patuawa (Anglican) is appointed to a commission in the rank of Chaplain 4th Class, with seniority from 30 November 1973 and effect from 2 February 1978.

Una Rebecca Ewert, LL.M., is appointed to a commission for an initial period of 3 years, in the rank of Lieutenant (W) with seniority from 3 September 1977 and effect from 3 March 1978.
