THE CHARITABLE TRUSTS ACT 1957
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL OF A SCHEME UNDER PART III OF THE CHARITABLE TRUSTS ACT 1957

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington Hospital Board has filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington, an application for approval of a scheme by which a bequest paid to the Board on 27 April 1944 under the will of Walter Lindley Meek, late of Wellington, merchant, deceased, having a value as at 30 September 1976 of $2,042.99, be applied in and towards the maintenance and upkeep of the ward for invalided or injured soldiers, be paid by the Board into the patients’ comfort account administered by it, and be applied by the said Board for the provision of additional amenities for the welfare and comfort of patients generally, upon the grounds that it is impossible to give effect to the original bequest since there has been no soldiers ward at Wellington Hospital since 1948, and that it is now impossible and impracticable to apply the said fund towards the maintenance or upkeep of a soldiers ward, there being no such ward or need for such a ward in the Wellington Hospital since 1948, but that the patients’ comfort account does exist to provide additional amenities for the welfare and comfort of patients generally, and the Board believes that such a purpose would best give expression to the intention of the above-named Walter Lindley Meek.

Copies of the scheme and the report of the Attorney-General thereon may be inspected free of charge at the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, Wellington, and at the office of the Wellington Hospital Board, Dalmuir House, 114 The Terrace, Wellington.

The date proposed for the hearing of the application is the 17th day of May 1978. Any person desiring to oppose the scheme is hereby required to give written notice of his intention to the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Wellington, and to the Attorney-General, not less than 7 clear days before that date.

P. D. McKENZIE,
Solicitor to the Wellington Hospital Board, Wellington.

THE CHARITABLE TRUSTS ACT 1957
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL OF A SCHEME UNDER PART III OF THE CHARITABLE TRUSTS ACT 1957

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington Hospital Board has filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington, an application for approval of a scheme by which a bequest to “The Ohirō Home, Wellington”, under the will of Mary Elizabeth Wilkins, late of Lower Hutt, spinster, deceased, for the purposes of providing the inmates with extra comforts and good cheer at Christmas times, and a bequest under the will of Thomas Hounslow, late of Wellington, deceased, to the Central Park Hospital, and a bequest under the will of Ernest Herbert Saxby Jackson, late of Wellington, deceased, to “The Ohirō Home for the Aged Needy” for additional comforts for the inmates of such home, be applied by the said Board for the provision of extra benefits and comforts for patients cared for in the Board’s geriatric service, upon the grounds that it is impossible to give effect to the original bequests because The Ohirō Home, the name which was subsequently changed to the Central Park Hospital, ceased to function on 12 June 1975, and has gone out of existence, and that the Board’s geriatric service does exist, and provides services for the care and welfare of aged persons, and the Board believes such a purpose would best give expression to the intention of the above-named testators.

Copies of the Scheme and the report of the Attorney-General thereon, may be inspected free of charge, at the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, Wellington, and at the office of the Wellington Hospital Board, Dalmuir House, 114 The Terrace, Wellington.

The date proposed for the hearing of the application is the 17th day of May 1978.

Any person desiring to oppose the scheme is hereby required to give written notice of his intention to the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Wellington, and to the Wellington Hospital Board, and to the Attorney-General, not less than 7 clear days before that date.

P. D. McKENZIE,
Solicitor to the Wellington Hospital Board, Wellington.
