Reservation of Land and Vesting in the Hokitika Borough and Westland County Councils

PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a reserve for a site for an aerodrome; and further, pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, vests the said reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Hokitika, and the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Westland, in trust, for that purpose subject to the terms of an agreement between Her Majesty the Queen and the Hokitika Borough and Westland County Councils, dated 12 November 1969, a copy of which is deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington as Westland Deed No. 170.

Declaration That Land is a Public Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Howick Borough Council on the 14th day of March 1977:

“That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 13 of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Howick Borough Council hereby resolves that the piece of land held by the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the said borough in fee simple and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be, and the same is hereby, declared to be public reserve for recreation purposes within the meaning of the said Act.”

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve Specifying the Manner of Disposal and how Proceeds of Sale Shall be Utilised

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation as a reserve for plantation purposes over the land, described in the Schedule hereto, and further declares that the said land may be disposed of by the Mount Wellington Borough Council at current market value, the proceeds from any such sale to be paid into the council’s reserves account, such moneys to be used and applied in or towards the improvement of other public reserves under the control of the council or in or towards the purchase of other land for public reserves.
