Notice of Intention to Take Land at Barnside for the Purposes of the Main South Railway

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain public work, namely, to take the portion of land, described in the Schedule hereto, for the purposes of the Main South Railway. The land is part of the land in Deeds Index L. 453, Otago Registry, the registered proprietor of which is George Duncan of Lower Kaikorai District in the Province of Otago, farmer.

Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land to be taken is deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways, at Wellington, and is there open for inspection, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, should, if they have any objection to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing and send the written objection within 40 days of the first publication of the notice to the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and that, if any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of hearing.
