All being situated in the Purua Survey District, Blocks IX, X, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, Mangakahia Survey District, Block XVI, Tangihua Survey District, Blocks IV and VI, Ruakaka Survey District, Block I, and Whangarei Survey District XIII in the County of Whangarei, as shown on the plan marked N.Z.E. 968, deposited in the office of the Electricity Division, Ministry of Energy.

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Wilsons (N.Z.) Portland Cement Ltd. by the Use of Water
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Energy hereby consents to the generation of electricity by Wilsons (N.Z.) Portland Cement Ltd., by the use of water, subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS

The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934 to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968 to generate electricity by the use of water.

The generation of electricity by the use of water pursuant to this consent shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

The consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1999.

This consent is subject to compliance with the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967.

For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 3,000 kilowatts.
SCHEDULE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
(a) Headworks consisting of a weir and intake situated in the Wairua River at a point approximately 140 metres upstream from the Wairua Falls giving a static head of approximately 39.624 metres.
(b) A canal leading from the intake in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 1186 metres to a forebay.
(c) A pipeline leading from the forebay in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 60 metres to the powerhouse.
(d) Water turbines, generators and all necessary hydraulic and electrical equipment housed in a powerhouse situated on the right bank of the Wairua River.
(e) Tail race leading from the powerhouse to the Wairua River.
As shown on the plan marked N.Z.E. 976, deposited in the office of the Electricity Division, Ministry of Energy, at Wellington.
