THE Local Government Commission has prepared a provisional scheme constituting the Southland Region. Copies of the provisional scheme and an explanatory statement are available for inspection at this office and the offices of the following local authorities: Wallace County Council, Otatau; Otago Town Council, Otatau; Riverton Borough Council, Riverton; Southland County Council, Invercargill; Gore Borough Council, Gore; Mataura Borough Council, Mataura; Winton Borough Council, Winton; Wyndham Town Council, Wyndham; Invercargill City Council, Invercargill; Bluff Borough Council, Bluff; and Stewart Island County Council, Half Moon Bay. Copies of the scheme can also be purchased from the Government Bookshop.

Any person or body interested has a right of objection to the provisional scheme and may give notice in writing to the commission of the objection and of the grounds of the objection on or before 16 November 1977.

The commission’s office is situated on the Second Floor, Law Society Building, 26–28 Waring Taylor Street, and the commission’s postal address is Private Bag, Wellington.

Extension of Time for Lodging Objections

IN accordance with the provisions of section 20 (1) of the Local Government Act 1974, the Local Government Commission has extended the time in which objections to the provisional scheme constituting the Wellington region may be lodged. Notice in writing of objection to the scheme and of the grounds of that objection may now be lodged with the commission up to and including 1 December 1977. The commission’s office is situated on the Second Floor, Law Society Building, 26–28 Waring Taylor Street, and the commission’s postal address is: Private Bag, Wellington.
