Appointment of Customs Containerbase at Port of Dunedin

PURSUANT to section 32A of the Customs Act 1966 (as inserted by section 4 of the Customs Amendment Act 1968, and amended by section 5 of the Customs Acts Amendment Act (No. 2) 1976) I, Jack Alexander McLeod Kean, Comptroller of Customs, hereby appoint the place described in the Schedule hereto to be a Customs containerbase for the reception, examination, or protection of goods that are subject to the control of the Customs and are carried or to be carried in bulk cargo containers, for the purpose of that Act.

SITUATION

Port Chalmers Harbour Reserve.

DESCRIPTION

That parcel of land comprising of about 12.5857 hectares, more or less, as shown outlined in red on Otago Harbour Board Plan No. 6379, deposited with the Comptroller of Customs.

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the undersigned Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities, mentioned in the Schedule hereto, of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

1977 Land Tax Payable

Land tax on land held as at 31 March 1977 is due for payment by 7 October 1977. Tax unpaid after 7 November 1977 will be increased by 10 percent of the amount of tax otherwise payable reducible to 5 percent if payment is made on or before 7 January 1977.

WHERE TO PAY

Land tax is administered by the Masterton district office of the Inland Revenue Department. Payment may be made direct to that office, or to any other of the Inland Revenue Department, or to any post office with savings bank facilities.

HOW TO PAY

Please present your statement of account when making payment.


WHO IS LIABLE

Land tax is payable on land owned at 31 March 1977 if the total land value as at noon on that day exceeded $175,000 and does not fall within the certain categories of land exempt from land tax.

Pork Marketing Board—Basic Minimum Price for Pigs—Notice No. 5 1977

PURSUANT to regulation 13 of the Pork Marketing Board Regulations 1973, and regulation 5 of the Pork Marketing Board Regulations 1976, Amendment No. 2, the Pork Marketing Board hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Basic Minimum Price for Pigs Notice No. 5, 1977.
  2. This notice shall be operable from the 3rd day of October 1977.
  3. This notice fixes the basic minimum prices for pigs, as specified in the following Schedule, delivered to export pig slaughterhouses.

SCHEDULE

45.5 kg/70 kg Weight Range

(a) North Island:
Prime grade .. 110 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
Choice grade .. 100 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
Standard grade .. 82 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
Mutilated grade .. 77 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.

(b) South Island—(Belfast Works):
Prime grade .. 106 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
Choice grade .. 96 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
Standard grade .. 77 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
Mutilated grade .. 72 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.

(c) South Island—(Makarewa Works):
Prime grade .. 103 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
Choice grade .. 93 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
Standard grade .. 74 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
Mutilated grade .. 69 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.

Prime grade .. 77 cents per kilogram hot carcass weight.
