Present:
THE HON. V. S. YOUNG PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 55 of the Local Government
Act 1974, a determination was made by the Local Govern-
ment Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Commission)
on the 31st day of May 1977 determining objections against
a resolution of the Auckland Regional Authority (herein-
after referred to as the Authority) made under section 54 of that
Act, reviewing the distribution of membership of the
Authority: and whereas by a decision of the Supreme Court
made at Auckland, on the 22nd day of August 1977, the
determination was quashed: and whereas it is expedient that
the Commission should reconsider the said objections and
made a further determination, in accordance with section
55 of the Local Government Act 1974, but the time allowed
for the making of a determination under subsection (3) of
that section has expired and it is expedient that the time
for doing so be extended: now therefore, pursuant to section
192 of the Local Government Act 1974, His Excellency the
Governor-General acting by and with the advice of the
Executive Council, hereby makes the following Order.
O R D E R

  1. Title—This order may be cited as the Local Government
    (Auckland Regional Authority) Order 1977.
  2. Extending time for determination of objections—In order
    that the Commission may reconsider and, pursuant to section
    55 of the Local Government Act 1974, determine the
    objections against the resolution of the Authority dated the
    21st day of February 1977 reviewing the distribution of
    membership of the Authority, the period of one month
    specified in subsection (3) of that section is hereby extended
    until the close of the 25th day of August 1977.
