Amendments to Notice Setting Out the Requirements for the Importation of Seeds, Stock Feeds and Related Dried Products (Notice No. 1761 Ag. 31005)

PURSUANT to the Introduction and Quarantine of Plants Regulations 1973, and the Stock Foods and Agricultural Seeds Importation Regulations 1958, the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. Title and Commencement—
    (1) This notice may be cited as the Importation of Seeds Notice 1977, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Importation of Seeds Notice 1977* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  2. Types of Seed—
    The principle notice is hereby amended by inserting after the word “chestnut”, the word “coffee”.

  3. Seeds for Sowing—
    (1) Schedule A of the principle notice is hereby amended by—
    (a) Omitting the words “Clover, white Trifolium repens IMPORT NOT PERMITTED”, “Clover, red Trifolium pratense IMPORT NOT PERMITTED”, and “Dichondra Dichondra repens IMPORT NOT PERMITTED”, and substituting respectively the references and requirements for those plants set out in the Schedule to this notice; and
    (b) Inserting below “Cocksfoot” the references and requirements for “coffee” set out in the First Schedule to this notice.
    (c) Inserting below “Spinach” the references and requirements for “Squash” set out in the First Schedule to this notice.
    (2) Paragraph 2 (c) of the Notes to Schedule A is amended by inserting below “Cereals (wheat, oats, barley, rye) . . . 5 kg.” the reference and requirements “Clover (white and red) . . . 50 g.”
    (3) Schedules of Acceptable Cultivars—
    The principle notice is further amended by deleting Appendix II and substituting the following:
