PURSUANT to the Local Government Act 1974, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, hereby reappoints:
Hugh Alexander Fullarton, C.M.G.,
of Wellington, to be a member and to be Chairman of the
Local Government Commission, for a term of 2 years, expir-
ing on the 30th day of June 1979; and
Clifton MacDonald Turner
of Wellington to be a member of the said commission for a
term of one year expiring on the 30th day of June 1978.

Appointing a Member of the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road
Tunnel Authority
DENIS BLUNDELL, Governor-General
PURSUANT to section 4 of the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road
Tunnel Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby
appoints James Michael T. Greene, of Christchurch, stock-
broker, to be a member of the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road
Tunnel Authority for a term of 5 years, as from the date of
appointment.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General this 22nd day of April 1977.

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His
Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following
appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations,
and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.
REGULAR FORCE
BRIGADIERS' LIST
Brigadier Leslie Watson Wright, M.B.E., is retired, with
effect from 11 May 1977.
ROYAL REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY
Captain (temp. Major) G. D. Stevenson is re-engaged to
retiring age for rank, with effect from 10 April 1977.
Supernumerary List
The engagement of Captain and Quartermaster D. F.
Pollard is extended until 6 March 1980.
ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS
Captain and Quartermaster L. J. Pye to be temp. Major
and Quartermaster, with effect from 12 April 1977.
ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS
Captain (temp. Major) Terence Bernard Gillooly; the notice
published in the Gazette, No. 43, p. 1098, is cancelled and
the following substituted: "Captain (temp. Major) Terence
Bernard Gillooly, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers,
General List, Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals, in the rank of
Major, with effect from 6 March 1977."
ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY REGIMENT
Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Taroa Averill Mataira, M.B.E.,
is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, Royal
N.Z. Infantry Regiment, in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel,
with effect from 19 May 1977.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster D. P. Rogers is re-engaged
to retiring age for rank, with effect from 9 December 1976.
