Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Auckland Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A (16) of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Gordon Stewart Orr, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Auckland Licensing Committee on 6 May 1977 made an order authorising variations of the usual hours for the sale of liquor to the public, and further authorised the following hours of trading for the licensed premises known as D.B. Valley Inn, Auckland:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public, and not being Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve) the hour of opening shall be as usual 11 o’clock in the morning and the hour of closing 10 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any Friday and Saturday (not being New Year’s Eve) and on Christmas Eve (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o’clock in the morning and the hour of closing 11 o’clock in the evening, but during the period from 10 o’clock in the evening to 11 o’clock in the evening, the said premises shall only be open in respect of that bar known as the Hacienda Lounge Bar.

(c) On every New Year’s Eve (not being a day when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o’clock in the morning and the hour of closing 0.30 o’clock in the morning of New Year’s Day, but during the period from 10 o’clock in the evening of New Year’s Eve to 0.30 o’clock in the morning of New Year’s Day, the said premises shall only be open in respect of that bar known as the Hacienda Bar.

(d) The committee grants an exemption for the purposes of section 187 of the said Act in respect of the period from 10 o’clock in the evening on any Friday, Saturday, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve until the said premises are required to be closed in accordance with this order.

Approval of Motor Cycle Safety Helmets in Terms of Traffic Regulations 1976

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves, for the purpose of regulation 31 of the said regulations, motor-cycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

SAFETY helmets manufactured by Stadium Ltd., South Wales, marked Cobra, and bearing the certification mark of the British Standards Institution BS 2495.

Safety helmets manufactured by Thetford Moulded Products Ltd., England, marked Centurion X150, and bearing the certification mark of the British Standards Institution BS 2001/VU.

Safety helmets manufactured by Thetford Moulded Products Ltd., England, marked Centurion X850, and bearing the certification mark of the British Standards Institution BS 5361.

Exemption from the Restrictions as to Flashing Red Lights

PURSUANT to regulation 90 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts from the requirement of regulation 37 (9) of the said regulations, vehicles described in the Schedule hereto to the effect that they may be equipped with one or more revolving lights which display alternate red and amber beams.

National Roads Board—Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board by resolution dated 16 March 1977, and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of State Highway 1 (Awanui-Bluff) from the southern boundary of the Borough of Huntly to the Mungawara River, as more particularly shown on Sheets 1 to 4 of plan LA 22/3/1 and accompanying schedule, held in the office of the resident engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Hamilton, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.
