Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Wairarapa Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A (16) of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Gordon Stewart Orr, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Wairarapa Licensing Committee, on 25 March 1977, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours for the sale of liquor to the public, and further authorised the following hours of trading for the chartered club known as South Wairarapa Working Men’s Club, Greytown:

(a) On any Friday, Saturday, or Christmas Eve (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of closing to be not later than 11 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any New Year’s Eve (not being a day when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of closing to be not later than 0.30 o’clock in the morning of New Year’s Day.

That the closing hour for the premises known as the Hotel Ekatahuna, at Main Street, Ekatahuna, shall be fixed at 11 o’clock in the evening of Friday and Saturday (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) and at 11 o’clock in the evening of Christmas Eve and at 0.30 o’clock in the morning of New Year’s Day in each year other than when Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve falls on a Sunday.

Industrial Relations Act 1973—Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union

PURSUANT to section 195 of the Industrial Relations Act 1973, it is hereby notified that the registration of the Canterbury Employers of Drivers’ Industrial Union, Registered No. 324, situated at Second Floor, Shaw Savill Building, 220 High Street, Christchurch, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Approval of Motor Cycle Safety Helmets in Terms of Traffic Regulations 1976

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves, for the purpose of regulation 31 of the said regulations, motor cycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

SAFETY helmets manufactured by Ivanap Daytona Ltd., Christchurch, and bearing the certification mark of the Standards Association of New Zealand, N.Z.S. 1884, and the licence number 2111.

Exemption From the Requirements for Indicator Lamps to be Fitted to Motor Cycles

PURSUANT to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts motor cycles from the requirements of subclause (1) of regulation 63 of the said regulations, subject to the condition that this exemption shall not apply to any motor cycle first registered after the 1st day of November 1977.
