Pork Industry Council—Election of Producers Representative, Ward No. 1 (all Northland, the Franklin County and the Northern parts of the Raglan and Waikato Counties)—Roll of Eligible Electors

NOTICE is given that a copy of the roll of pig producers eligible to vote in the forthcoming election for one producer member to represent Ward No. 1 on the Pork Industry Council will be available for inspection at the following places:

Returns of Insurance Premiums Required from Persons, etc., Insuring Property Against Fire Otherwise than with an Insurance Company Carrying on Business in New Zealand

THE attention of all persons, firms, companies, and associations being owners of property in respect of which premiums are paid to an insurance company not carrying on business in New Zealand, is drawn to section 51 of the Fire Service Act 1975, and, furthermore, the attention of all persons, firms, companies, and associations in possession of funds for insurance purposes is drawn to section 51 (4) of the Act, which is quoted as follows:

“For the purposes of this section, where an owner of any property within a district makes a payment in respect of that property to any fund established for insurance purposes either within or beyond New Zealand, the person in possession of the fund shall be deemed to be an insurance company and every amount paid to the fund shall be deemed to be a premium.”

By notice in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 16, 17 February 1977, at page 344, the Minister of Local Government has fixed Friday, 4 March 1977, as the time by which returns showing the total gross amount of premiums received by or due to fire insurance companies during the year ended 31 December 1976 shall be transmitted to the Fire Service Commission.

Returns, accompanied by an auditor’s certificate and a statutory declaration, must be lodged forthwith and should be addressed to the Secretary, New Zealand Fire Service Commission, P. O. Box 2133, Wellington.

Exemption of Certain Motor Cycles From Speedometers, Warning Devices, Direction Indicators, and Rear Vision Mirrors

PURSUANT to regulation 90 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts vehicles of the types specified in the Schedule hereto from the requirements of the said regulations in relation to the fitting of a speedometer, warning device, direction indicators, and rear vision mirror.

SCHEDULE

Any motor cycle classified in Class A or Class B for the purposes of section 188 of the Transport Act 1962.

Approval of Motor-Cycle Safety Helmets in Terms of Traffic Regulations 1976

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves for the purpose of regulation 31 of the said regulations, motor-cycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

SAFETY helmets, manufactured by Shoei Safety Helmets Corporation, and marked Shoei S-12, and bearing the mark of the United States Department of Transportation Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard D.O.T. 218.

Fixing a Levy on Fish (No. 1644 Ag. 42/1/2)

PURSUANT to the Fishing Industry Board Act 1963, and regulation 5 of the Fish Levy Regulations 1976, notice is hereby given by the Fishing Industry Board that:

(a) From and after the 1st day of March 1977 every wholesaler shall pay to the Board a fish levy on all fish taken or purchased by him (otherwise than from another wholesaler) at a rate of 1.2 percent of the primary price of those fish, and

(b) Notice published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 78, 3 December 1970, p. 2390, is consequently revoked. Expressions used in this notice have the same meanings as in the Fish Levy Regulations 1976.
