Meat Industry Authority (Notice No. 3—MIA 3/8/1)

PURSUANT to section 6 (2) of the Meat Act 1964 (as inserted by section 4 of the Meat Amendment Act 1976), notice is hereby given that the following councils have been granted exemptions from the provisions of section 6 of the Meat Act 1964, requiring their district, or part of their district (as indicated below), to be an inspected meat area:

Kaikoura County Council

Thames-Coromandel District Council

Buller County Council

Oxford County Council

Akaroa County Council

Waitomo District Council

Hokianga County Council

Ellesmere County Council

Malvern County Council

Rodney County Council

Cheviot County Council

Marlborough County Council

Taumarunui County Council

Franklin County Council

Exempted Area of District of Council

Catlins, Maclennan, and South Molyneux Ridings of the County of Clutha.

Town Riding of the County of Kaikoura.

Former Ridings of Mercury Bay, Whitianga, and Whenuakite of the former County of Coromandel in the Thames-Coromandel District.

All that area of the County of Buller bounded in the west by the Tasman Sea, in the north by the south bank of the Kohaihai River, in the east by the boundary between the County of Buller and the County of Waima, and in the south by the northern bank of the Mokihinui River.

County of Oxford, as from time to time constituted.

County of Akaroa, as from time to time constituted.

All that area of Waitomo District contained within the boundary of the Pio Pio Community, and also that area within a radius of 5 kilometres from the boundary of the Pio Pio Community.

Ridings of Omapiere and Rawene, and all that area contained within the boundary of the Omapiere Community in the County of Hokianga.

County of Ellesmere as from time to time constituted.

County of Malvern, as from time to time constituted.

All that area of the County of Rodney comprising the Ridings of Albert-Arai, Kourawhero-Tauhoa, Hoteo, Omaha, Matakana, and Kaipara-Puhoi, and all that area within the boundaries of the Wellsford District Community, and the Warkworth District Community.

County of Cheviot, as from time to time constituted.

All that area of the County of Marlborough encompassed by a line commencing at Cape Soucis thence south-westerly along the Marlborough County boundary to the Richmond Range; thence easterly along the Richmond Range and north-easterly along the eastern watershed of the Wakamarina River to Trig Takorika, thence south-easterly to Mount Duncan, northerly to Mount Oliver, thence along the north-western watershed of Queen Charlotte Sound to Cape Jackson, thence by the sea, including D'Urville Island, to Cape Soucis.

All that area of the County of Taumarunui contained within the boundary of the Ohura Community.

All that area within the County of Franklin with a radius of 32 kilometres of the Rural Slaughterhouse (Licence No. A. 152) situated at Towers Road, Waiuku, but excluding the Boroughs of Pukekohe and Takanu.
