This bulletin sets out the estimated costs of operation for five classes of motor cars and two classes for vans, pickups, and light trucks. Designed to assist vehicle owners in identifying and reducing operating costs, this bulletin, along with the Ministry of Transport bulletin "Truck Operating Costs", will no longer be available for free distribution. "Car Operating Costs" is now available from all Government bookshops for 50c.

One of a series of 12 bulletins containing basic population, dwellings, and household statistics from the 1976 census. Contains statistics for each local authority with the above statistical area and provides analyses at subdivision level with the defined main urban area.

Information on counties is presented for complete counties only, inclusive of any minor portions which may be situated beyond statistical area boundaries.

The use of the quinquennial Census of Population and Dwellings for questions on past, as well as present, residence, to assist studies of internal migration is a new survey procedure in New Zealand.

This publication is therefore the first on this subject in the usual series of Population Census volumes.

These provisional national statistics are based on a 10% random sample of census questionnaires thus making statistics now available in the same year as the census. Although this report will differ from the final figures it is considered that discrepancies between the sample and final figures will not prejudice the usefulness of the figures contained in this publication.

Contains the provisional statistics on population and dwelling numbers from the 26th Census of Population and Dwellings taken on the night of 23 March 1976.

Provides provisional figures on a more detailed geographic basis, with comparable figures from the two previous censuses. The final statistics will be issued in a sequence of separate subject-matter volumes as work is completed.

This volume is the first of the definitive 1976 Census of Population and Dwellings volumes; to be a set of 12 separate subject-matter reports.

This initial volume sets out the basic details of the number and location of the population as on census night, 23 March 1976, together with corresponding data from the 1966 and 1971 Population Census.

Only statistics of the total population have been included, other analyses will be found in the provisional statistics which were based on a sample 10 percent of census questionnaires, which is already published.

Future volumes in the present series will contain further analyses.

In this interesting book the author describes the history of public health in New Zealand. Included is an account of the 1900 world pandemic of bubonic plague and its effects in New Zealand. After this epidemic the Department of Public Health was set up, and took independence from local authorities in the matters of public health. This book tells also of the improvements in sanitary conditions throughout the country and the attempts to improve the health of the Maori people.

Totalling 700 square miles, the broad expanse of high altitude Crown land known as Molesworth Station is the largest single farm unit in New Zealand. In 1938, after 70 years of leasehold farming the Molesworth and Tarndale runs reverted to the Crown in a badly depleted state. This is an account of the recovering of the land at Molesworth for productive farming and should prove very interesting and informative to all high country farmers.
