LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMMISSION
WELLINGTON REGION PROVISIONAL SCHEME
Extension of Time for Lodging Objections

IN accordance with the provisions of section 20 (1) of the
Local Government Act 1974, the Local Government Com-
mission has further extended the time in which objections to
the provisional scheme constituting the Wellington region
may be lodged. Notice in writing of an objection to the
scheme, with the grounds of that objection, may now be
lodged with the Commission up to and including 1 April 1978.

It is not now the Commission’s intention to hear and
determine objections, nor to issue a final scheme, prior to
1 April 1978. The extension, which will allow interested parties
a further 4 months in which to consider the issues raised in
the provisional scheme, also accords with requests received
from territorial local authorities in the region.

The Commission’s office is situated on the Second Floor,
Law Society Building, 26–28 Waring Taylor Street, Wellington,
and the Commission’s postal address: Private Bag, Wellington.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waipa County Council
proposes to execute a certain public work, to wit, the
construction of a public road for which purpose the land
described in the Schedule hereto requires to be taken by
the Council, under the provisions of the Public Works Act
1928.

A plan of the land required to be taken as aforesaid lies
open to public inspection at the office of the Council, in
Bank Street, Te Awamutu.

Every person directly affected is hereby called upon to set
forth in writing any objection he may wish to make to the
execution of such work or to the taking of such land not
being an objection to the amount or payment of compensation,
and to send such written objection to the Town and Country
Planning Appeal Board, Wellington, within 40 days from the
first publication of this notice. A public hearing of the
objection will be held unless the objector otherwise requires
and each objector will be advised of the time and place of
the hearing.
