TAUMARUNUI COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROADS

IN the matter of the Counties Act 1956, and its amendments, and in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, and its amendments:

NOTICE is hereby given that the Taumarunui County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work, namely, the construction of roads and for the purpose of such work the lands, described in the Schedule hereto, are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that the plans of the lands required to be taken are deposited at the public office of the said council, situated in Manuatu Street, Taumarunui, and are open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary business hours. All persons affected by the taking of the said lands if they have any objection (which are not objections as to the amount of payment of compensation) which they may wish to make to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board at Wellington; and that, if any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing of the objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the hearing.

EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER ABOLISHING WARDS AND REDUCING REPRESENTATION

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Eastbourne Borough Council resolved, by way of special order, as follows:

  1. That the two wards of the borough be abolished for the elections to be held in October 1977.

  2. That the number of councillors be reduced from 10 to 8 for the elections to be held in October 1977.

The above resolutions were passed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 18th day of November 1976, and confirmed as a special order on 25 January 1977.
