Assumption of the Office of Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of New Zealand by The Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, G.C.M.G., C.H.

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was graciously pleased, by a Commission passed under the Seal of New Zealand, bearing date at Saint James's the 13th day of October 1977 to appoint me, the Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, to be Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand:

Now, therefore, I, the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief aforesaid, hereby proclaim and declare that I have this day taken the prescribed oaths before the Right Honourable Sir Herbert Richard Churton Wild, Chief Justice of New Zealand, and that I have assumed the said office of Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand under and by virtue of Her Majesty's said Commission.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Order of the Companions of Honour, Principal Companion of the Queen's Service Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 26th day of October 1977.
