HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
makes the following order.
ORDER
-
(1). This order may be cited as the Pest of Local Im-
portance Order 1976, No. 2.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the
date of its notification in the Gazette. -
The rook is hereby declared a pest of local importance
in the Marlborough and East Waikato Pest Destruction
Districts.

THE HON. J. B. GORDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 6 of the Howard Estate Act 1919, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby
determine that, from and after the 1st day of July 1975,
the Public Trustee for the administration of the Howard
estate shall be entitled to remuneration at the rate of $4,200
per annum, together with all expenses and disbursements
incurred by him in the administration of the estate.

and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand
Navy
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His
Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following
appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations,
and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces :
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
Provost Marshal
Commander C. R. Vennell is appointed Provost Marshal
of the Royal New Zealand Navy, with effect from 14 July
1976, vice Commander R. E. Lawry.
Lieutenant Commander J. A. Payne to be Commander with
seniority and effect from 21 June 1976.
Lieutenant Commander J. E. N. Welch to be acting Com-
mander with effect from 12 June 1976 and temp. Commander
with effect from 14 June 1976.
Lieutenant Commander John Charles Shackell is placed
on the Retired List with effect from 19 June 1976.
Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) F. J. Rolton
(Rtd.) : the notice published in the Gazette, No. 58, 20 May
1976, p. 1118 is cancelled and the following substituted:
Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) Franklin John
Rolton (Rtd.), reverts to the Retired List in the rank of
temp. Lieutenant Commander, with effect from 5 April 1976.
The appointment of Surgeon Lieutenant P. H. Robinson,
M.B., CH.B., is extended to 3 August 1980.
Sub. Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) D. R. Johnston, N.Z.C.E.
(Elect.) to be Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from
6 January 1975.
The seniority of Ensign R. M. Mason is ante-dated to
7 January 1976.
The seniority of Ensign R. J. Scott is ante-dated to 7
January 1976.
Ensign (on prob.) Robert John Meldrum: the notice
published in the Gazette, No. 30, 25 March 1976, p. 645, is
cancelled.
Brian Frederick Bradfield, C17068, CPO WTR, to be Lieu-
tenant (on prob.) (Special Duties List), with seniority and
effect from 30 July 1976, on appointment to the RNZN;
terminating on 28 December 1987.
Robert Lawrence Sadler, L16869, CRD, to be Lieutenant
(on prob.) (Special Duties List), with seniority and effect
from 30 July 1976, on appointment to the RNZN; terminating
on 18 June 1988.
WOMEN'S ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL SERVICE
The commissions of the following Fourth Officers (on
prob.) are confirmed with effect from 12 April 1976:

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE
The appointment of Commander M. S. W. Ballantyne,
V.R.D., is extended to 31 December 1977.

and effect from 28 April 1976.
EMERGENCY LIST OF THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
The period of service of Lieutenant Commander Robert
Charles Cameron Pearce on the Emergency List of the RNZN
is terminated, with effect from 4 June 1976.
The period of service of Lieutenant Lindsay Hammond
Hall, M.SC., PH.D., on the Emergency List of the RNZN is
terminated, with effect from 21 April 1976.
