Tariff Notice No. 1976/86—Application for Variation of Determination

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for variation of a current determination of the Minister of Customs as follows:

Automatic firewood saws
Band saws, with throat capacity not exceeding 53.34 cm (21 in.)
Breakdown saws:
(i) vertical bandsaw types having wheels from 120 cm (47 in.) to 240 cm (94½ in.) diameter
(ii) circular types, having one or more saw blades from 121.92 cm (48 in.) to 243.84 cm (96 in.) diameter
Circular saw benches, hand-fed, including builders’ trade saw benches, with blade diameter not exceeding 30.48 cm (12 in.) and c.i.f. unit value not exceeding $1000
Sawn timber cut-off saws, horizontal, vertical, and pendulum types having circular saw blades from 30.48 cm (12 in.) to 91.44 cm (36 in.) diameter
Docking saws, pneumatic or mechanical, with saw diameter up to 91.44 cm (36 in.) and cutting capacity up to 50.8 cm (20 in.) × 15.24 cm (6 in.)
Log cut-off saws:
(i) Horizontal, vertical, pendulum and swing types having circular saw blades from 121.92 cm (48 in.) to 213.36 cm (84 in.) diameter
(ii) Chain types having cutter saws (also known as cutter bars) up to 182.88 cm long
Radial arm saws, overhead crosscut saws trenching machines and mitring machines with blade diameter not exceeding 35.56 cm (14 in.) and c.i.f. unit value not exceeding $1000
Splitting saws for round wood production, with infinitely variable cutting up to pole centre line and having saw diameters up to 137.16 cm (54 in.) pole capacity 60.96 cm (24 in.) diameter up to 9.14 m (30 ft) long
Resaws:
