Licensing Kenneth Whitburn Herring to Occupy a Site for a Slipway in the Floating Basin, Westport Harbour
Pursuant to section 162 of the Harbours Act 1950, I, Owen John Conway, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport hereby license, and permit Kenneth Whitburn Herring (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include his successors or assigns unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea in the Floating Basin, Westport Harbour, as shown on plan marked M.D. 10570, and deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining thereon a slipway, as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto. The licence of 30 May 1973*, authorising Carey Fishing Co. Ltd. to occupy a site for a slipway in the Floating Basin, Westport Harbour, is hereby revoked.
SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS

This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

The term of the licence shall be 11 years from the 1st day of May 1976.

The premium payable by the licensee shall be five dollars ($5) and the annual sum so payable by the licensee shall be forty dollars ($40): provided always that the Minister may review the annual sum payable at the end of the first year or any subsequent year of the said term.

Plant Declared Noxious Weed Within the County of Waimate West (No. 1467 Ag. 12/10/4/3)
Pursuant to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Act 1953, for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the following Special Order, made by the Waimate West County Council on the 25th day of May 1976, is hereby published.
SPECIAL ORDER
That, pursuant to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, thorn apple or jimson weed (Datura stramonium) be declared a noxious weed in the Waimate West County.

Pursuant to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Act 1953, for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the following Special Order, made by the Piako County Council on the 8th day of June 1976, is hereby published.
SPECIAL ORDER
That, pursuant to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, the Piako County Council hereby resolves, by way of Special Order, that the plants, specified in the Schedule to this notice, are hereby declared noxious weeds in the County of Piako.

Thorn apple or jimson weed (Datura stramonium).
Water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes).

Hutt Valley Fire District
Pursuant to section 26 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission hereby gives notice:
(1) That on 1 July 1976 there shall be constituted a Hutt Valley Fire District, defined as all that area of land in the Wellington Land District, comprising the Borough of Petone, and the City of Lower Hutt, excluding therefrom Ward Island, Somes Island, and Mokopura Island, situated in Wellington Harbour.
(2) That the existing Hutt Valley and Bays Fire District, and the Petone Fire District, are hereby abolished on 1 July 1976.

Amendments to the Rules of the Royal Society of New Zealand
Pursuant to the Royal Society of the New Zealand Act 1965, the fellows of the Royal Society of New Zealand, at the annual general meeting held on 26 May 1976, passed a resolution amending the rules of the Society published in the Gazette, on 22 December 1965, 29 June 1967, 13 June 1968, 4 June 1970, 3 June 1971, and 24 May 1973, the effect of such resolution being:
SECTION A—ADMISSION AND DUTIES OF MEMBER BODIES
New Rules A8 and A9 were added as follows:
A8. Member bodies shall inform the Council and its officers concerning matters referred to them by Council or by any of the officers and may make suggestions to the Council concerning the sciences which they represent.
A9. Council may establish special interdisciplinary committees to report on multi-disciplinary fields, having invited nominations for membership from appropriate member bodies.
SECTION C—PROCEEDINGS OF COUNCIL AND COMMITTEES
C8. The words “and Sectional Committees” were deleted.
C13. was amended to read: “At each meeting of the standing committee the quorum shall be five, at least three of whom shall be fellows’ councillors.”
SECTION D—NATIONAL COMMITTEES
The words “and Sectional Committees” were deleted from the heading to this section.
