21. Goods for Transhipment at Lyttelton

  1. Where goods for transhipment are landed ex-ship they will be charged the rates provided for in section 96, General Scale of Charges. If left on the railway premises more than 1 week, storage at the rates specified in section 22 (below) will be charged.

22. Storage Charges at Lyttelton

For all goods not delivered within 8 working hours of arrival and stored, storage will be charged at the rate of $1.00 per tonne or cubic metre per working day with a minimum of 50c per day.

23. Haulage Charges, Lyttelton to Woolston, Heathcote, and for Local Delivery at Lyttelton

  1. Goods ex-ship of Classes A, B, C, D, G and G less a percentage, E, E plus 25 percent. E plus 50 percent, J, and N, railed direct from ship’s side to Heathcote or Woolston, will be charged $13.50 per tonne or cubic metre including cost of tarpaulins, and will be conveyed at owner’s risk.

  2. Goods ex-ship hauled direct from ship’s side to public or private sidings at Lyttelton will be charged under the provisions of section 96, General Scale of Charges.

  3. Goods ex-ship of Classes A, B, C, D, G and G less a percentage, E, E plus 25 percent, E plus 50 percent, J, N, and glue pieces, railed to Christchurch for sorting and returned to Woolston, Heathcote, or Lyttelton, will be charged at $17.00 per tonne or per cubic metre including sorting, and will be conveyed at owner’s risk.

  4. Small lots of goods chargeable at the rates specified in paragraphs 1, 3, and 4, will be charged as follows:

  1. The charges for ship’s goods, Classes A, B, C, D, and G will be computed in accordance with section 127, General Scale of Charges.

24. Storage Charges at Christchurch on Goods ex-Ship

  1. Goods discharged ex-ship at Lyttelton and conveyed to Christchurch for delivery will be allowed free storage on the first day they are available for delivery and the following day. After the expiration of this period, storage will be charged at the following rates:

    For the first 4 days, per day or part thereof $1.00 per tonne or per cubic metre.
    Minimum charge 50c per tonne or per cubic metre per day.
    Each succeeding day or part thereof $2.00 per tonne or per cubic metre.
    Minimum charge $1.00 per tonne or per cubic metre per day.

  2. When goods are stored in the open, storage will be charged at half the above rates.

  3. The charges on ships’ goods, Classes A, B, C, D, and G will be computed in accordance with Section 127, General Scale of Charges.
