Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at

Licensed Premises—Wanganui Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1962, as amended by the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Gordon Stewart Orr, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Wanganui Licensing Committee on 15 December 1976 made orders authorising variations of the usual hours for the sale of liquor to the public, and further authorised the following hours of trading for the licensed premises specified in the Schedule below:

(a) On every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (not being Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 10 o'clock in the evening.

(b) On every Friday, Saturday and Christmas Eve (not being a day when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 11 o'clock in the evening.

(c) On every New Year's Eve (not being a day when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 0.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day.

Special Levy Prescribed under the Wine Makers Levy Act

1976 (No. 1616 Ag. 12/2/23)

PURSUANT to section 11 of the Wine Makers Levy Act 1976 and on the recommendation of the Wine Institute of New Zealand Incorporated, I hereby prescribe a special levy of 16.5 cents per hectolitre (0.75 cents per gallon) on the estimated volume of wine production declared by each licensed wine maker in his application for renewal of his wine maker's licence for the year ending 30 June 1977, to be applied in meeting the costs of establishing the Wine Institute of New Zealand Incorporated and its estimated operating costs to 30 June 1977.

I also authorise the Trustee to obtain the individual quantity declarations made by each licensed grape wine maker for the purpose of assessment of the special levy; and to collect such special levy on behalf of the Institute by 28 February 1977; and to remit all such levies to the Institute as soon thereafter as is practicable.
