created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by
the appointment of a member in the manner in which the
vacating member was appointed, and the member appointed to
fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of
office of the member whom he replaces.
(4) Unless he sooner vacates his office every appointed
member of the board shall continue in office until his
successor comes into office.
(5) The powers of the board shall not be affected by any
vacancy in the membership thereof.

  1. (1) A deputy member may be appointed, in the same
    manner as an appointed member, to be the deputy of that
    member and act in the event of the absence of that member
    from any meeting or meetings of the board.
    (2) While any person is acting pursuant to subclause (1)
    of this clause he shall be deemed to be a full member of the
    board. The fact that any person so acts shall be sufficient
    evidence of his authority to do so.

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 18) 1976
Pursuant to regulation 17 of the Import Control Regulations 1973*, the Minister of Trade and Industry hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 18) 1976.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
  2. Goods of the classes specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff items in the First Schedule hereto,
    imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said
    regulations.
  3. The exemptions from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations in respect of the goods of the classes set forth
    in the Second Schedule hereto, included in the exempting notice shown in the Second Schedule, are hereby withdrawn.
