COOK COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD METAL SITE

Notice is hereby given that the Cook County Council, acting under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, proposes to take the land, described in the Schedule hereto, for the purpose of a road-metal site. The said land is an old river bed along the western bank of the Waipaoa River at Waituhi, and is required for permanent access to, and extraction of river shingle from the adjoining shingle beach in the present river bed. The land is located between Lavenham Road and the western end of Caesar Road, Ormond. Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the said council at 389 Gladstone Road, Gisborne, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons directly affected by the taking of such land must set forth in writing any objection they may wish to make to the taking of the land, not being an objection to the amount or payment of compensation, and send the same within 40 days after the first publication of this notice to the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board at Wellington. If any objection is made, in accordance with this notice, a public hearing of the objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the hearing.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL

PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the Matatoki Water Supply Rating Area, taken on the 13th day of November 1976, on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of $45,250 to be known as the Matatoki Rural Water Supply Loan 1976, for the purpose of carrying out improvements to the Matatoki rural water supply, resulted as follows:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was ...... 35.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was ...... 4.
The number of informal votes was ...... Nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO PROMOTE A PRIVATE BILL

THE METHODIST CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL TRUSTS AMENDMENT ACT 1976

Notice is hereby given by the Board of the Wesley Training College that it intends to apply forthwith for leave to bring in a Private Bill under the short title of the Methodist Charitable and Educational Trusts Amendment Act 1976. The objects of such bill are as follows:

  1. To change the name of the Board of the Wesley Training College to Wesley College Trust Board.
  2. To extend the board’s powers of investment.
  3. To amend the Methodist Charitable and Educational Trusts Act 1911 to facilitate the board’s entering into an integration agreement with the Minister of Education, pursuant to the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975.

The promoter of the bill is the Board of the Wesley Training College and communications or notices may be sent to the board at its office at Ground Floor, Shell House, corner of Albert and Wyndham Streets, Auckland.

A copy of the bill may be inspected at that address or at the offices of Messrs Simpson, Coates & Clapshaw, 450 Queen Street, Auckland.
