Designation of South Taranaki Community Arts Council

PURSUANT to section 32 (i) of the Queen Elizabeth the Second Arts Council of New Zealand Act 1974, on the recommendation of the Central Regional Arts Council, and on application of the South Taranaki Community Arts Council, the Queen Elizabeth the Second Arts Council of New Zealand hereby designates the South Taranaki Community Arts Council to be the Community Arts Council for the following duly defined area:

Patea Borough and County, Hawera Borough and County, Waimate West County (including Maniaa Town Council), and Egmont County Council.

The Standards Act 1965—Provisional Standard Withdrawn

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 24 September 1976, withdrew the under-mentioned provisional standard:

The Standards Act 1965—Standard Specifications Revoked

PURSUANT to section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 24 September 1976, revoked the under-mentioned standard specifications.

NZS 964:1958 (BS 1453:1957) Filler rods and wires for gas welding.
NZS 1061:1962 (BS 1134:1961) Centre-line-average height method for the assessment of surface texture.
NZS 1293:1959 (BS 2493:1958) Molybdenum and chromium-molybdenum low alloy steel electrodes for manual metal-arc welding.
NZS 2223:— Polyethylene (polythene) film—
Part 1: 1968 Polythene (low and medium density) for packaging and allied purposes. (Superseded by NZS 7651.)

The Standards Act 1965—Overseas Specifications Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the under-mentioned specifications are being considered for declaration as New Zealand standard specifications:

Number and Title of Specification
BS 5175:1976 Safety of commercial electrical appliances using microwave energy for heating foodstuffs. $14.20.
BS 3456:— Safety of household electrical appliances—
Part 2.33:1976 Microwave ovens. $2.80.

Note—As Section 2.33 of BS 3456 merely implies that BS 5175 is applicable also to household microwave ovens, it is proposed that there should be a single New Zealand standard dealing with both the commercial and the household applications, and consisting of BS 5175 with any New Zealand amendments deemed necessary.

Persons who may be affected by the above-mentioned specifications and who wish to comment thereon, may obtain copies, at the prices shown, from the Standards Association of New Zealand, World Trade Center, 15-23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 30 October 1976.

NOTICE is hereby given that the New Zealand standard specifications listed in the Schedule hereto, have been reviewed by committees of the Standards Council and have been recommended for revocation, pursuant to the provisions of the Standards Act 1965.

Any person who may be affected by the proposal to revoke these standard specifications, and who wishes to object to their revocation, is invited to submit comments to the Standards Association of New Zealand, Private Bag, Wellington, not later than 29 October 1976.
